PD 2: Claire J.

In my opinion, there are a lot of funny scenes in this play. Especially with the rude mechanicals, because of their stupidity. The scenes that I thought were the funniest were 5.1, 1.2, and 3.1. This is because they entertain people, and the scenes make the audience have a good time either reading or watching the play. Act 5 scene 1 is the most funniest because this is when the rude mechanicals are performing their play. In the play, they forget their lines, and they make a lot of mistakes. Even one person, Snout, plays a wall! "In this same interlude, it doth befall that I, Snout by name, present a wall." Another scene, Act 1 scene 2, is also pretty funny. This is when the rude mechanicals are practicing their play, and Nick Bottom then just talks all "dramatic," saying, "The raging rocks and shivering shocks, shall break the locks of prison gates." Though he tried to sound cool in a way, I think that he did not succeed. The last funny scene was scene 1 in act 3. Now, this is when Bottom's head turns into a donkey's head. This was very funny because Snout tells him, "O Bottom, thou art changed! What do I see on thee?" Then, Bottom says, "What do you see? You see an ass-head of your own, do you?" When Bottom says that, Bottom instead has an ass-head of his own! Those were the reasons why I thought those scenes and acts were the funniest.
