PD:6 DelCiello, H. | MSND Funniest Scenes (Option 2)
The three funniest scenes in A Midsummer Night's Dream are act 3, scene 1, act 3, scene 2, and act 5, scene 1 because they create interesting and entertaining scenarios. In act 3, scene 1, Titania, the well-respected queen of the fairies, falls in love with Bottom, an unintelligent mortal with the head of a donkey. Just after, in act 3, scene 2, Lysander and Demetrius stop fighting over the woman they have loved for years, Hermia. Instead, they want to fight to the death over a woman they were tricked into loving, Helena. At the end of the play in act 5, scene 1, the Rude Mechanicals put on their terrible play. It was so horrible, nobody even noticed they were failing, and instead thought they were trying to make the play funny. This play really shows just how funny Shakespeare can be in those three scenes in A Midsummer Night's Dream.
