I Remember Poem- Emma Kushner Per. 2

I Remember Poem

I remember when I used to play in the playground with my childhood friends,
The way the tire rubber smelled against my feet,
And how the beautiful flowers always smelled in the spring.
I remember the cookies that the parents packed for lunch,
Like cookie dough ice cream melting on a hot summer day,

The Grass's  touch was invigorating when rolling down the hill beneath you,
It was a hot, wet cloth that wrapped you all up.

I remember how large the trees were when blocking the sun,
How the branches swayed in the wind.

Each time I recall this memory, exciting and happy thoughts pass my mind,
Thinking of how seeing everyone made me feel,
The way I was at the playground.
