I Remember Poem
I remember the way I went fishing for goldfish
The way the flowers acted like a perfume
And how it mixed with the food cooking somewhere else.
I remember the sweetness of the baked chestnuts
Like the icing on a birthday cake.
The rod's touch immediately became heavy
When another prize became part of my collection.
I remember a bowl full of fish
How the swarmed for their food.
Each time I recall this memory, I want to go back,
remembering how proud everyone was when I caught a goldfish.
One memory can mean a lot.
