I Remember Poem
I remember the time when I went to the Bahamas,
The way the salty ocean first smelled
And how fresh-cut pineapple sweetly filled the air.
I remember the taste of juicy, sour grapefruits in my mouth
Like warheads penetrating my tongue.
The coral's touch on my hand felt hard and bumpy,
it was a hard, unpaved road.
I remember the colorful fish swirling in front of my eyes,
How the stripes made my vision blurry.
Each time I recall this memory, I feel sad that I'm not there
Skipping into the ocean,
how the water made little droplets on my skin.
