I Remember Poem

I remember getting a cat

The way the car smelled like bubble gum

And how it reeked of fresh cat litter

I remember the way the gum tasted
Like taffy on my teeth

Little Kitty's touch the way my hand slid through her hair

It felt like I was in bed

I remember how my dog was back at home

How he was laying down, asleep

Each time I recall this memory I realize how long its been

Laughing because the way the new cat was rubbing against my leg

Getting my cat was an important step in my life
