Mostly because not everyone is the same
That is why we treat different people differently
There many reasons we treat people differently but one sticks out to me. All people are different are different. If everything was the same nothing would happen in the world. "I couldn't believe she was even talking to me" this quote exclaims that she wasn't very popular. However the popular girl lost all of her friends because her dad was against the revolution. Lucia was not used to her talking to her because she was treated differently by the girl. She was treated differently because her and her family were not the same as the other girls at school. That is why Lucia was treated differently by everyone else.
