Found Poem

Most students went out of their way to be nice to me, most...... not all
"Interesting conversation, does someone have a crush?"
"Jealous?"
"What? A tamale like you?"
"You're just a pet project for people here."
This poem is inspired by the book "The Red Umbrella" by Christina Diaz Gonazalez
In this scene that I choose, a girl named Betty who hated Lucy I bullying her and making her feel bad because someone she liked said hi to Lucy. I picked this scene because it show being treated different. She is being treated differently because of her race, Betty had said mean things to Lucy before but this time it was racist and then you get to thinking did Betty not like her because if where she came from, but after long consideration you see that Betty is jealous of all the attention that Lucy is getting. This scene shows how eve though Lucy is just another person she is being treated differently because of her race.
