PD1: Sophie Wickes Thanksgiving

I spent this thanksgiving with my family as I do each year. On the Wednesday before, I started the day and went to K-Mart early in the morning and purchased some dark purple spray paint with my mother. We came back home and I spent awhile trying to locate all my paint ing supplies in my room and around the house. My paint knife was in my garage so once I found it out there I began to set up all my things outside. My parents don't let me spray things inside the house because she says that she likes the floor green and she wants it to stay green. I painted a galaxy for my cousin because I really appreciate that he drives here from Maryland for each holiday. On Thanksgiving I woke up around ten o'clock. My family and I got dressed and went over to my grandparents at noon. My other cousins, Nicole and Grace, ran a little late and got there forty-five minutes after us. Each year Nicole and I take turns making the pumpkin pie and stuffing. This year Nicole made the pie which was amazing, much better than I had done the last year but she is three years older than I am. My other cousin grace is my age and I see her very often. She is definitely my closest friend and my favourite family member. Sadly my oldest cousin, Sam, could not make it here for Thanksgiving but he came for the following Friday. We all sat down to eat that evening and my father began to talk, as always. he talks about how in England, growing up he didn't celebrate Thanksgiving because they don't in other countries. He says that he is "thankful for Thanksgiving" because he says that American holidays are better than English ones. After dinner we tried to stick around as late as possible to try and see Sam, but he came pretty late that night and we had to go home eventually. I left the picture there for Sam. The next day we all went on a train ride because that is a family tradition. Tracks clacking, we sat and enjoyed hot cocoa together. This was the first year that not everyone made it because my Nicole and her mother left us to go Black Friday shopping. I sat with Grace and we sang Christmas songs even though its too early for that in my opinion. We had a lot of fun and Im really glad that we get to do that every year. We went back to my grandmothers house that afternoon and Nicole came once she had finished at the Exton Mall. We played games out in the yard like we always do at my grandmothers. My Grace and I made a cleared spot behind a bush that allowed us to see into the garage for games like kick the can. We always sit back there and no one knows where we go. We always win all the games even though we aren't the strongest or fastest. Actually I may be the fastest but who wants to run and get all tired out over break. I had a really fun Thanksgiving even though I spent a lot of it sitting behind a bush.
